Who We Are
The community of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is made of people of all ages and backgrounds who come together to worship God, experience love, grow in faith, and serve others.
We are Episcopalians, who believe that Christ calls us to welcome all people, to look for the face of God in all we meet. We give ourselves to outreach and service of those in our midst and those who live in the broader world because we have experienced God’s love and grace made known to us in Jesus Christ.
On Sundays worship is taken from many sources and is blended into an easy-to-follow bulletin which is crafted for occasion. Our music comes from multiple cultures and traditions and ranges from organ to guitar, piano to percussion. We sing our praises as a congregation, as choir members and as soloists. Specials guests and a handbell choir add to the diversity and beauty of worship. All of our music is in our worship bulletins.
We are a gathering of people who have been at St. Mark’s for a few weeks and people who have been at St. Mark’s their whole lives. We are people who live nearby and people who travel from far away to be part of this community. On any given Sunday folks will be from East Longmeadow, Palmer, Ware, Wales, Ludlow, Monson, Springfield, Westfield, Suffield, West Springfield, Chicopee, Wilbraham, Agawam, South Hadley, Hampden, and Longmeadow.
We gather together following worship to talk, share, and enjoy coffee, tea and other treats at Holy Grounds Café after the 10 am service.
St. Mark’s gathers on our 1 Porter Rd. East Longmeadow campus which includes a flexible worship space which accommodates many seating varieties to reflect special events and church seasons. Community gathers take place in our large Great Hall and other comfortable rooms. Adult and Youth Education takes place in dedicate rooms designed for those who learn there. All of the facility is air conditioned and has Wi-Fi.
